Denon DVD-1800BD

Denon has launched its entry-level Blu-ray player, the DVD-1800BD, in the UK market.

The Profile 1.1 player offers Bonus View rather than the fully interactive BD-Live service as seen on higher priced players.

The 1800BD sports HDMI 1.3 connectivity, enabling DeepColor support and full bitstream output of Dolby True HD and DTS-HD and 1080p upscaling.

For Denon it's all about the AV quality, and the company touts the 1800BD as a step-up CD player with dedicated two-channel analogue output and high-class Burr-Brown DACs.

Interestingly, the player also incorporates a secondary audio and video decoder, allowing simultaneous playback of a second audio and video track, for use with things like interactive commentary or picture in picture. There's also an SD card reader.

Available in silver or black, the DVD-1800BD goes on sale in December for £600.
