Pure Evoke-2S

Brit stalwart PURE has presented the EVOKE-2S flagship stereo digital radio with DAB and FM reception and Clearsound, the company's much hyped new and enhanced audio subsystem.

Described by PURE as a 'dramatic evolution' from its predecessor, the EVOKE 2XT, the 2S promises 'significant audio, cosmetic and functional improvements', making it the 'best PURE stereo digital radio yet'.

The improvements come in the mid-range speakers and separate tweeters, endowed with this Clearsound technology that uses an integrated switch-mode power supply, class D amplifiers, digital audio shaping and custom tuned speakers with 30W RMS power output.

It also features ReVu enabling pause and rewind of live DAB, Intellitext and textScan, improved alarm and sleep timer, more presets and the latest ChargePAK battery that claims to last a whole week from a single charge.

The OLED display has manual and auto brightness, there's an aux input for MP3 players, kitchen countdown timer, USB upgrade option and veneer casework. Look closely and you'll probably find the kitchen sink.

The 2S is, of course, part of PURE's enviro-friendly EcoPlus range and is the first PURE radio to include a dedicated power off switch instead of just using standby.

Available in November, the EVOKE-2s will set you back £170.
