Tangent Uno

Danish design lord Tangent has released the Uno, an old school-styled FM/AM table radio. Available in eight fruity finishes and colours, it sports a heavy curved body and massive fifties-style retro dining dial.

Tangent has opted for FM over DAB for a range of reasons, among which it cites that, 'lots of people still buy FM radios… most agree that FM sounds better than DAB… many people cannot get a decent DAB signal, even in London'. And while we don't' necessarily agree with all of the above, the Uno still looks like a cracking radio.

It sports a five-watt amplifier with hi-fi quality three-inch speaker and heavyweight furniture grade wooden cabinet. Connections are a little more modern though, with an aux input for portable music device hook-up, and headphone, subwoofer and record out options.

On sale in a range of surreally named colours that include the high-gloss finish Flame Red, Hendrix Purple, Virulent Yellow, East Berlin Orange, Dazzling Lime Green and matt finish Plain White, Boring Black Ash Veneer and Traditional Walnut Veneer, all models retail at a penny less than £100.
