Boston Acoustics VS Series
Boston Acoustics has unveiled its striking new VS Series loudspeaker range in a rainbow of colours, boasting 'striking styling and furniture-grade cabinetry'.
Typically Boston Acoustics, the VS Series is colourful and stylish on the outside, the wave form curved surfaces of the speaker cabinet actually serve to reduce internal standing waves and panel resonances, creating a superior sound to the traditional box shape. 'Substantial' internal bracing enhances the strength and rigidity of the cabinets furthering the high-performance sound.
The driver design implements a proprietary Super Wide Bandwidth Tweeter featuring a Coupled Dual Concentric Diaphragm, which minimises phase shift and distortion while improving pistonic motion - so essentially the clearest possible sound at the highest frequencies.
Elsewhere, Organic Composite Cone Material is used in an effort to improve sound characteristics at midrange frequencies.
Gold plating on the binding posts rounds out the VS Series' impressive credentials, so much so that Boston Acoustics describes them as the 'best-performing' products it has ever produced.
The full range comprises the VS336 three-way floorstanding loudspeaker (from £2,500 depending on finish), the VS240 two-way bookshelf (from £600), the VS260 two-way bookshelf with six-and-a-half-inch drivers (from £1,200), the VS325C three-way centre channel (from £650), and VPS210 Class-D 500 watt subwoofer (from £1,200).
The entire range goes on sale in December in a high-gloss choice or cherry, maple, silver, red, ebony or black for the end panels.
