Denon AH-NC732
Denon's new AH-NC732 headphones are the first from the company to head down the path of noise cancellation, under the dubious sell line 'escape to quality sound'. The NC732s feature newly developed active noise cancelling circuitry that claims a 99% reduction in outside noise while maintaining the kind of audio quality we've come to expect from all Denon products.
Alongside this 'cone of silence' (they're really loving the hyperbole today), the cans also feature ergonomically designed ear pads with soft leather coverings and high compliant urethane foam. They have also been fitted with a specially designed Acoustic Optimiser to ensure deep bass response and dynamic sound by maintaining a sound pressure balance in front of and behind the diaphragm.
The 40mm drivers are big enough to produce a tonal balance over the entire audio range. Weighing only 160g with the cable, they shouldn't weigh you down too much should you wish to find out if the 40-hour battery life claim from a single AAA battery is indeed true. Fully compatible with the iPhone amongst other products, the AH-NC732s are foldaway, come with a carry case that has room for your MP3 player and raft of accessories including airline dual adapter, 3.5mm adapter, quarter-inch stereo headphone plug adapter and detachable cables.
Available this November, the high-end Denon cans will set you back £250.
