IXOS has brought out a new eight-way power distribution unit with mains surge protector in the shape of the XHP280 AV PowerStation.

Designed with room for transformers and power supplies and featuring a mains power switch and LED indicators, it can protect mains, phones, networks and aerials.

The unit sports IXOSAFE.T Level 1 Circuitry with a 3,528-Joule capacity to ensure protection against voltage spikes, with all outlets disconnected if the voltage reaches 330 volts. The RFI and EMI Noise Filter decreases the noise floor by 70dB from 100kHz to 10mHz, preventing 'noise' from entering a connected AV system, which would hinder image and sound quality. With a two-metre mains lead, the IXOS XHP280V can be tucked out of sight, and is available now for £70.
