Pioneer LX01BD Home Theatre
Pioneer first announced its LX01BD home theatre system back in June, as part of its LX 'luxury' range. And now the AV giant has finally confirmed it is to see a UK launch, as a perfect partner to its latest KURO plasma TV range.
The LX01BD is a Profile 1.1 Blu-ray disc spinner delivering 'native' Full HD 1080p playback, with DeepColor support, Bonus View, and dual HDMI in and single HDMI out, enabling connection of the full gamut of Blu-ray compatible kit.
Sonically, the LX01BD features an integrated 5.1-channel amplifier and dodecahedron technology derived satellite speakers that generate sound fields in all directions (we've seen this Pioneer tech in action and trust us, it works).
The technology allows for a phantom centre channel created by the front left and right satellites, with rear left and right speakers and a mighty subwoofer/receiver with dual drive subs to enable powerful handling of lower frequencies rounding out the aural duties.
The LX01BD is of course comfortable handling the latest HD audio formats, from DTS-HD to Dolby TrueHD, and the Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration System (MCACC) calibrates the system's speakers to its environment for optimal sound quality.
The remote control is a LCD touchscreen affair, although you can use your Pioneer TV remote if you prefer via the KURO-LINK option. Long since available in Europe, the LX01BD has now arrived in the UK and will retail at around the £2,000 mark.
