Bowers & Wilkins CM Loudspeakers

Brit speaker specialist Bowers and Wilkins has added four new models to its longstanding CM Series loudspeaker range, for export to the US.

The new models include a 'seriously grown-up' three-way floorstander, a larger stand-mount model, a new centre channel and the range's first dedicated subwoofer. The new additions extend the range to seven models, while a new polished black gloss finish spruces up the styling.

The CM9 is a three-way floorstander featuring a 25mm aluminium dome tweeter, a 150mm Kevlar FST midrange driver and twin 165mm paper/Kevlar bass drivers. The CM9 is designed to provide a meatier performance than the more diminutive CM7.

The CM5 is a two-way standmount speaker featuring 25mm aluminium dome tweeter and 165mm Kevlar bass/midrange driver.

Specifically for the home theatre market, the CM Centre 2 increases the output and bass extension of the more diminutive CM Centre and features as FST midrange driver to match seamlessly with the new CM9s.

Last in the line-up is the ASW 10cm subwoofer. Sporting a 25cm paper/Kevlar cone bass unit coupled to a massive 500W amplifier, it means customers can now complete a CM Series home cinema system for the first time.

As is traditional with all B&W kit, quality is uppermost in the designers' minds with custom-designed componentry and drive units and real wood finishes of gloss black, rosenut and wengé.

Available now, the CM9 retails at $1,500, the CM5 at $750, the CMC2 at $1,250 and the ASW 10cm at $1,500.
