Digital Audio Distribution has announced the launch of the Cowon O2 PMP for sale in the UK.

A 'stunning new fusion of portable and audiovisual technology', the O2 arrives in 16GB and 32GB flavours, each of which features a 'pin sharp' 4.3in 16.7million colour digital TFT LCD screen.

To keep size down, Cowon has opted for solid-state flash memory rather than hard drive based models, as the company claims this is the first time it has become affordable in a full sized PMP.

Compatibility is far reaching with AVI, WMV, ASF, MP4, MATROSKA (MKV), OGM, MPG/MPEG, DAT and MTV video support; and MP3/2/1, WMA, ASF, AC3, FLAC, OGG, M4A, MATROSKA (MKA), TTA, APE, MPC, WV and WAV audio support.

Battery life is a claimed eight hours for video and 18 for audio, while extras like photo and document viewer and mic for recording direct to FLAC shouldn't drain too much power.

Available now, the 16GB model will set you back £209 and the 32GB £249.
