Granted it's a bit of a curio, but we quite like the concept behind iHome's iH77 collapsible speakers.

Doing exactly what it says on the tin, this is a pair of stereo speakers with standard 3.5mm jack that can be hooked up to everything from your iPod to your laptop or compatible mobile phone for a better than built-in speaker sound. But when you're done, they collapse down to half their size for more efficient transport.

iHome notes that the speakers feature integrated amplifiers powered by lithium-ion batteries that can be recharged via the bundled USB cable.

Complete with carry case, the iHM77 goes on sale at the end of the month in black, silver and red for $50.
