Pioneer HDJ 2000 headphones

Pioneer's new HDJ-2000 headphones promise to 'reach new levels of sound quality, comfort and durability'. Quite a claim considering some of the models currently on sale from the likes of Denon and Audio Technica. The HDJ-2000s have a high quality frequency response optimised for DJ use meaning clear high hat and kick drum separation in studio and club environments, with 50mm driver units and high-flux magnets creating greater resolution from bass all the way through to treble ranges.

A capacity for 3,500mW of input prevents distortion even at higher volumes and the heavy duty build promises to eliminate all resonance. Designed to match Pioneer's CDJ players aesthetically, the HDJ-2000s also feature a stereo/mono switch, 90-degree swivelling earcups and a folding mechanism for easier transport.

Available from 'late 2008', the HDJ-2000s will retail for £200.
