Best known for its storage drives, Western Digital has launched WD TV, a home cinema device that converts content into High-Definition.
The WD TV media player turns files from USB sticks, camcorders, portable media players and digital cameras into HD quality.
Music, video and photos are all catered to, with compatibility stretching to MPEG 1/2/4, WMV9, AVI (MPEG4, XviD, AVC), H.264, MKV, MOV (MPEG4, H.264), JPEG, GIF, TIFF, BMP, PNG, MP3, WMA, OGG, WAV/PCM/LPCM, AAC and FLAC files. Phew.
The system doesn't support downloads from the likes of iTunes, Movielink and Amazon however.
On sale now, WD TV retails at a shade under £80.
